Chef Yoon Nam-no Reveals Behind-the-Scenes Insights from Netflix's Black and White Chef Competition

Celebrity chef Yoon Nam-no revealed some surprising insights from his recent appearance on the Netflix show "Black and White Chef: Cooking Class Wars."

In a recent interview on the YouTube channel "Hyeri," Yoon shared behind-the-scenes stories about the competitive cooking show. He discussed his unique nickname, "Cooking Dora," explaining how he embraces it despite the criticism. Yoon also opened up about the intense preparation he underwent, spending substantial time and money honing his craft, stating he practiced a dish over 40 times before competing.

When asked if he could taste other chefs' dishes during the competition, Yoon confirmed that strict rules prevented that, although he did manage to sneak in a few bites. He noted how this secrecy is crucial, as sharing opinions on competitors' dishes could impact their evaluations. Yoon praised a fellow contestant's dish, claiming it could have ranked among the top in Korean culinary contests due to its perfect balance of flavors.

Meanwhile, the "Black and White Chef" show has gained tremendous popularity, topping Netflix's Global Top 10 non-English TV list shortly after its release. Featuring 20 well-known chefs, the show pits them against 80 talented newcomers in a fierce culinary showdown. The mix of different chef backgrounds adds an intriguing dynamic to the competition.
