FT Island member Choi Min-hwan's image as a devoted father has dramatically changed following allegations of involvement in prostitution.
Recently, he has been embroiled in scandal, causing his activities to be put on hold and signaling a potential exit from the entertainment industry. Although he is set to participate in the "2024 FT Island Live 'Pulse' in Asia" concert in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, he will not be performing on stage due to personal circumstances. The concert organizers announced that he will be backstage during the performance, leading to mixed reactions from netizens regarding the unexpected situation.
Choi Min-hwan will also be absent from the "Grand Mint Festival 2024" scheduled for November 2, with his position being replaced by a session drummer. His agency, FNC Entertainment, confirmed that other FT Island members will perform as planned, maintaining the concert's setlist without disruption.
The allegations followed revelations from his ex-wife, former LABOUM member Yulhee, who aired her grievances about their marriage on TV. She accused Choi Min-hwan of her betrayal, which ultimately led to their divorce last year, stating that his visits to establishments related to prostitution significantly impacted their relationship.
FNC Entertainment expressed its difficulty in commenting on personal issues but acknowledged the disappointment felt by fans and the public. Due to the fallout, Choi Min-hwan will also withdraw from the KBS2 show "The Return of Superman," where he showcased his dedication to parenting amid a busy schedule.
