A disturbing incident has emerged involving the alleged assault of a singer's fan, raising serious concerns in the K-Pop community.
Information speculating on the identity of the perpetrator has spread rapidly, with claims linking them to a notorious character from the film "The Dark Knight." The YouTube channel ‘Shamu’ recently revealed that the suspect, referred to as “Joker,” possesses an Instagram account featuring a profile link to a cosmetics company, which led investigators to discover the individual’s name as Justin. Further investigation indicated that this Justin resides in San Gabriel Valley, Los Angeles, and was born in September 1987, matching the numerical part of the Instagram handle.
On September 29, the identified individual reportedly assaulted a fan of singer Jessi in Apgujeong, Seoul, after they requested a photo. Despite the incident occurring, Jessi allegedly departed the scene without intervening, and when questioned by police, her entourage claimed they had no knowledge of the assailant's whereabouts. Following the public backlash, Jessi released a second apology on her Instagram, expressing regret and emphasizing her desire to have acted differently to protect the victim.
Speculations have also circulated regarding the assailant's background, suggesting ties to a gang based in Los Angeles, supposedly involved in drug distribution and gambling. Following the intense scrutiny, Jessi's agency maintained that they have no connection to the perpetrator, clarifying that he is merely a friend of a producer associated with her. As the investigation unfolds, the K-Pop community remains alert to the ongoing implications of this troubling event.
