Dong-joo expressed her realization that renovating an old house is not as simple as it seems, admitting she thought the process would be straightforward. “Every time we demolished something, my heart ached; the walls were poorly insulated,” she reflected on the condition of her new house.
She also shared her fears about the structural integrity of the home, recalling how they had to reinforce the walls and roof to ensure it became the sturdiest house in the neighborhood. Visiting the ongoing renovation site, Dong-joo revealed her dream of creating a personal sanctuary. “Every time I come here, I can’t help but sigh,” she confessed, indicating the emotional weight of the project.
