Yoon Do-hyun Steps Down as Radio DJ After 11 Years
Renowned singer Yoon Do-hyun has announced that he will be stepping down from his role as a radio DJ, marking the end of a significant chapter in his career.
On September 13, Yoon revealed through his personal channel that he will continue hosting MBC FM4U's "Yoon Do-hyun's 4 O'Clock" only until September 22. He mentioned the challenging emotional burden and conflict that led to his decision, noting that the shift from familiar roles to new directions was not easy. Yoon expressed that attempts to innovate the radio show, including ideas like a new season structure, ultimately proved impractical.
Yoon also shared that he remains dedicated to his band YB, highlighting the necessary focus on maintaining the band and its performances, along with various creative projects like album production and a contracted musical. The singer felt it was unfair to take extended leaves for radio commitments, prompting his choice to resign. He promised to value the remaining broadcasts and encouraged fans to support him in future performances.
Since being appointed as the DJ for "Yoon Do-hyun's 4 O'Clock" in 2022, he has connected with audiences for nearly two years. Notably, he revealed last year that he had successfully battled a rare form of cancer, enduring treatment while managing his radio duties. Now, Yoon is concluding his DJ role, a significant transition amid his ongoing artistic journey.
