Zico Addresses Allegations of Receiving Controversial Music Industry Report from HYBE, Denies Ever Having Access to It

K-pop star and producer Zico has addressed allegations regarding his connection to a music industry report created by HYBE.

On the afternoon of the 30th, Zico took to his social media to express his thoughts, saying, "What is going on? After checking today’s report, I felt it was necessary to clarify my position." A report from Hankyoreh indicates that on January 6, 2022, HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk discussed including Zico in the distribution list of the 'Weekly Music Industry Report III,' pointing out that Zico was added to the recipients by then-HR chief Kim Joo-young. Zico's inclusion is linked to his agency, KOZ Entertainment, which was acquired by HYBE in November 2020.

In response to the mention of his name in the HYBE documents, Zico emphasized, "I have never seen the document nor accessed the email. I also learned about my inclusion in the recipient list through today’s article." He further revealed that he requested confirmation from KOZ regarding his non-access to the email and documents before clarifying his stance. Zico also wished his supporters a peaceful day amid concerns regarding the situation.

Currently, Zico serves as the CEO of KOZ Entertainment, a label under HYBE, and is involved in producing the group BOYNEXTDOOR.
